Erin and Sarah were officially married the year prior at the King County Courthouse so instead of having a more traditional ceremony, they opted to make this a fun celebration of their relationship along with their closest friends and family, many of which were from out of town. Several friends came together to help these two create a totally fun and unique experience for Sarah and Erin.  From flowers and raspberry pies to ceremony poetry and pin wheel favors, everyone pitched to help make this day a perfect one.  Their ceremony was held in a small, secluded garden on the Seattle University campus, just a stone’s throw from the apartment these two share. 🙂 They began their ceremony with beautiful meditative tones from a handheld, silver heart chime and proceed with a lovely ring warming as poetry was read.  My favorite part of the day was just after the ceremony when everyone grabbed a pinwheel and made the walk across campus and busy Madison Avenue to their reception venue at Sole Repair.  This was such fun day and I am so thankful to Erin and Sarah and their family and friends for hosting an absolutely fabulous party of love and togetherness.  I can’t wait to hear all about your honeymoon when you return from New Zealand!!! xx, Amy

Dabob Bay Wedding

One of the most darling weddings this year was Kara and Jered’s lovely backyard wedding held at a friend’s property overlooking beautiful Dabob Bay.  These two are so sweet together and I love how personalized their day was with photos of the two of them growing up and all of the super cute fish-themed elements included for Jered’s love of fishing and their mutual love of camping and the outdoors; many guests even opted to camp out that evening in their own tents! I am a big fan of hyper-personalized weddings and this was exactly that. Weddings should be a true testament to your unique relationship and the love you share and this day absolutely overflowed with love and joy for this sweet outdoorsy couple. I was honored to share in this most special of day and wish all the love in the world to Kara, Jered and their families!  xx, Amy

thornewood castle wedding

Emily and Marc were married over Fourth of July weekend this Summer at beautiful Thornewood Castle. This was quite possibly one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever photographed.  While the grounds and interior of Thornewood Castle are straight out of a storybook with a sunken English garden, brick walls, hall of mirrors and sweeping staircase, it was actually Emily’s delightful Southern personality and Marc’s fun sense of humor which added most to the charm of this absolutely gorgeous day. I can’t think of a more perfect couple to be married at this epic estate. Emily and Marc, as well as their massive wedding party, looked positively regal among the backdrop of this beautiful place. We also enjoyed the company of their adorable pup, Baxter in case you needed even more to love about this wedding. We had a splendid day capturing these two and their families joining together and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this lovely couple!! xoxo, Amy

Let’s be honest, not everyone’s backyard is fit for a wedding, I know mine sure isn’t. And that’s not just because I don’t have a yard. However,  after meeting Ryan and Jimmy and upon hearing that they were hosting their wedding at Ryan’s childhood home in Wallingford I knew it was going to be absolutely perfect. These two absolutely exude 100%  joyful, carefree, happiness. I dare you not to look at their adoring faces and not smile back at your computer screen.  In fact, I guarantee you’ll be in a better mood once when you arrive at the end of this blog post today; they are THAT darling. Case in point, and to clarify the photo above of Ryan’s engagement ring, let me just quickly tell you how Jimmy proposed.  You see, Ryan is an avid coin collector, most often resulting in lots of pennies she’s found along the street.  So one day around Christmastime when they were home from college visiting Ryan’s parents, Jimmy tells her they need to run to the grocery store; so Ryan runs upstairs to quickly get dressed and Jimmy pops outside to leave a bit of change out along the sidewalk. As they head off to the store, Ryan happily collects a couple of pennies until she’s spotted the unlikely quarter. She leans down to pick up the 25-cent piece and when she excitedly turns to show it to Jimmy, he openhandedly shows her the change he’s found: a few coins and a diamond engagement ring.  Adorable. Actually, my favorite part of this story is that when Ryan wanted to immediately run back inside to let her family know the amazing news, Jimmy was like, “No, seriously, we really do have to go to the grocery store.”  And they did!  And she waited until they got back to tell them. I love that they had those few moments all to themselves, standing in the dairy aisle of QFC, with a secret only they knew.  Jimmy and Ryan, it was more than a pleasure getting to know you both and being able to share this amazing day with you and your wonderful families.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. xx, Amy

DeLille Cellars Wedding

I knew the moment I met Marie and Ryan that I was going to love them. They are stylish and fun and wonderful and their wedding was exactly that. Held outdoors at Woodinville’s gorgeous DeLille Cellars, it had all the charm of a garden party with the flare of black tie. Even though held mid-Summer, the weather’s never guaranteed (Washington Summer is a fickle lady) and we had a few light showers which opened up to rays of sun just as they began their vows.  What proceeded was a wonderful evening of dancing, ice-cream sandwiches and sparkler shenanigans. We had a blast sharing Ryan and Marie’s day with them and thank all of their friends and family for being such a delight!  You guys are the best!! xoxo, Amy
