The Landing at Tyee Wedding

Rachel and Jon’s wedding day began like many other Spring weddings in Seattle- with lots of rain. Fortunate for us all it also ended like so many of those other rainy Spring weddings- with the sun finding a way to shine on through. They were married at The Landing at Tyee, a lovely venue tucked away on the shores of Lake Union. Rachel planned this wedding to a T and, quite honestly, I can’t believe wedding day arrived so quickly! I’ll be honest, this blog has so many photos, I think we should just get right to it. This wedding was amazing, Rachel and Jon are the absolute most darling couple and the entire shindig, from rainy morning to sparkler exit was perfection.  Big hugs to Rachel and Jon, their families, their friends, and all the other wonderful vendors that helped put this magical day together. xoxo, Amy

januik winery wedding

Nothing overjoys me more on wedding day than a couple who gives ample time for their wedding portraits. Kaitlyn and Jakub were married at Januik Winery in Woodinville and knew immediately that they wanted to have photos along the Sammamish River Trail, a trail which they often ride their bikes together. I love that they gave us plenty of time to walk over to the trail and really relax and take it all in. What a wonderful way to begin their day together; outdoors in a space they enjoy together. We had a blast all day with these two and their wonderful families. As a matter of fact, the powerful combination of Kaitlyn, Jakub, their wonderful planner, Madi, and fantastic DJs Craig and Andrew proved to be just too awesome for Bronwen and I and we ended up hanging out with them long after our official job was done. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- I can’t leave the party if you keep playing my all jams, Craig!!!  xx, Amy

I’m pretty excited to get back into pet photography- I mean, there’s not much more fun than spending your afternoon with a puppy. 🙂 A couple of weeks back I got the chance to meet Gatsby.  Gatsby is an adorably floppy 16 week old Rottweiler/Tasmanian Devil mix (OK, that may not be entirely accurate but based on our session I’m willing to accept the possibility) who was adopted by another wedding photographer friend of mine, the ever-charming Julia Kinnunen. Here’s a little more about this sweet boy:

Breed: I’m still fairly certain this kiddo has some Tasmanian devil in him, but officially he’s likely primarily Rottweiler.

Adopted from: Tall Tails Rescue

Favorite toy: his squeaky giraffe friend

Follow him on Instagram: @gatsby.the.great.rottie

OK, that’s enough reading.  I know you’re just here for the puppy… xx, Amy

I met Danya through a few past brides of mine. Her and her husband, Joe, wanted a session to document their sweet little girl’s almost 1 year birthday. Tuesday we were fortunate to get a nice, dry morning as we meet up at the Washington Park Arboretum for their session.  Now, you all know how much I love including pets in family photos, so I was overjoyed to know their pup would be joining us. Little did I know that this pup would be a completely joyous, tripod pit bull named Valentino. I mean, that face, right?!  Their daughter was a trooper (albeit with just a few crocodile tears) which allowed us some great family photos while she played with the flowers. Thank you for having me out to photograph your darling family Danya!!! xx, Amy
